During this 3-day workshop, we will approach portrait painting with a particular focus on modern techniques, principles, and aesthetics.

While demonstrating various techniques, we will discuss the balance between realistic art and abstractions while creating a cohesive design.

Students will be encouraged to develop their personal styles by incorporating techniques learned in the workshop. At the end of the workshop, each student will have several studies and one finished portrait that is more than the sum of its parts.

All art materials (oil paints, brushes, painting surfaces, palettes, mediums) are kindly sponsored by Rembrandt, a leading brand in art supplies. Additionally, this workshop will also include an in-depth introduction to different painting materials and a painting surface prepping part, where students will be introduced to the process of preparing their own canvas or panel for painting. With the support of Rembrandt's high-quality materials and the knowledge gained from the canvas prepping part, students will be able to create portraits that truly reflect their personal styles and techniques learned during the workshop.

Additionally, there will be a critique session and Q&A, where Alpay will give individual feedback and studnts have the opportunity to ask questions.

The workshop is in Berlin Charlottenburg, known for its history and cultural heritage, including the Charlottenburg Palace and elegant boulevards. It's also home to upscale shopping along the famous Kurfürstendamm and landmarks such as the Deutsche Oper and the Berlin Institute of Technology.

(You will get additional information regarding details in the following weeks.)

IMPORTANT:
Please note that each participant is responsible for the transport of their paintings back home. Make sure to plan accordingly and bring any necessary packaging materials to ensure the safe transportation of your artwork after the workshop.
